I guess I got into V-dubs by accident - no Beetle owning parents, grandparents or anything like that. I was browsing the magazines in John Menzies in Argyll St, Glasgow when I came across the 2nd copy of a new magazine called Volksworld. At this young and naïve time of my life, I was getting excited by the thought of owning Mk.2 Escorts & VX Chevettes! Fortunately I soon saw a brighter light and took ownership of a ’62 Bug, my first car.

A visit to Doune soon followed, as did several other air-cooled and water-cooled VWs. I soon got myself involved with a real dodgy bunch of guys, and we somehow ended up running Volksfling. Eight years after the last Show, and here we are again!

My current stock of vehicles include a ‘60 Split screen double-door Panel Van, a ’66 Bug (currently a project), an ’89 T25 Pick-up and a ’96 Audi A3.

My hope from running this show is to ensure the continuation of the event, and to provide a wide range of entertainment as well as the best range of V-dubs ever seen in Scotland. Cheers, Geoff.
